Affectionately nicknamed, ‘Wizard of OOZ’, Laurence is known for his say less, do more attitude toward the art of digging and DJing. His well-considered sets span the eclectic breadth of underground dance music and are encompassed by a deep, groove-ridden and soulful aesthetic with a tendency toward the obscure. Dub, reggae and jazz all inform the style of electronic music he plays and have done since he began collecting records aged 17.

Born and raised in South London, UK, Laurence is an artist, DJ and avid record digger/collector. Having grown up within his parent’s dance school, dance music and rhythm were instilled from a young age. Laurence has worked at record shops since his late teens until present day and has worked at Palace Vinyl since the age of 20. He cut his teeth playing at their infamous in-house parties and now works as the shop’s buyer. Laurence made his club debut aged 18 and has played across the UK and Europe since, alongside artists such as Shakolin, Bushwacka, Terry Francis, DeWalta, Reiss, Clovis, Grant Dell, Plant43, Adam Collins, E.lina, Silverlining, Sonja Moonear and more.

As co-founder of The OOZ Collective, OOZ Records label and a resident DJ at OOZ and Palace Vinyl, Laurence has been gaining traction in London’s underground scene in recent times. Alongside playing at every OOZ party and building a relationship with their crowd, recent bookings include Fabric; Little Portland Street with Bushwacka; The Lion & Lamb with Shakolin; Wiggle; Lion & Lamb with Plant43; Cloak N Dagger, Birmingham; Circle Park, Brussels; 333.Zion, NYC with Adam Collins.
